Possible Causes
1. Encoder issue- Encoder isn’t under spring tension on the steel.
- Debris, Dust, or Build up on encoder wheel.
- Encoder bracket loose.
2. Chain tension
- Chain tension in gearbox is loose.
- Loose chains between roller station.
3. Steel gauge adjustment
- Machine not calibrated for gauge thickness.
- Incorrect station pressure settings.
Possible resolution
**NOTE** Always have machine off when checking or adjusting encoder
- Inspect Encoder and confirm there is spring pressure against material.
- Clean encoder wheel with degreaser.
- Inspect and adjuster roller station chains.
- Inspect and adjust gearbox chain tension.
- Confirm correct gauge calibration has been performed and adjust if required.
Quick Tip
- Always check encoder spring pressure and that roller is clean of any build up.
- Verify chain tension before troubleshooting more complex issues.
